The Mortgage marketplace has undergone a huge change over the last 2 years. Mortgages have become much harder to obtain and lenders now require more and more information in order to grant finance. Many people are unsure what interest rates are going to do next and what type of mortgage they should be considering. Perhaps you are looking to purchase a property, perhaps you have a mortgage and your current rate has expired and your not sure what to do next or perhaps you are a landlord with a portfolio of properties and are unsure of the best mortgages available. The aim of this group is to help with all of the above and any other question or burning issues you may have relating to mortgage finance.

This Group is for Business owners and others working or supporting SME Manufacturing Companies in the UK. The purpose of the group is to exchange ideas; ask questions; establish contacts and obtain support to help secure and grow this essential sector of our economy. It will also provide a forum in which to exchange leads, find suppliers and identify business opportunities.

Meeting in the Dylan Thomas Theatre,The Marina, Swansea usually on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month this group aim to support and promote each other. Take a look at the website www.local-business-forum.co.uk Differing from other Groups in that the annual fee is just £200 and there is no meeting fee, light refreshments and hall hire fee are covered by a £50 sponsorship from a different member each time. The Grup was formed in July last year and grows steadily. We are currenly looking for trades members such as electricians, plasterers and builders, also solicitors, architects etc. Some larger businesses would be welcome. There is no limit to the number of similar businesses. We just want people who will take part and take action. The Group is managing the Swansea Business Show on 15th May.

The Chepstow & Monmouthshire Business Club was launched in February 2009. It's hub web-site can handle members' profiles, subscriptions, events, audio, video, and an online shop. The WebNET club (founded in 2003) has re-invented itself this year with new partners and major sponsors. What does WebNET do? It runs 6 evening events a year in attractive venues (like the National Botanic Garden) with the format of a good speaker (on Internet Business topics) followed by food and properly structured business networking activity. I hope this will become a place where members from the creative industries can promote their business's and what they can offer as well as getting to know each other and ultimately building confidence between members. The UK Government Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) has produced a widely-quoted definition of the creative industries as: “those industries which have their origin in individual creativity, skill and talent and which have a potential for wealth and job creation through the generation and exploitation of intellectual property.” (DCMS 2001, p. 04) The current DCMS definition recognises eleven creative sectors 1.Advertising 2.Architecture 3.Arts and antique markets (see also Restoration) 4.Crafts 5.Design (see also communication design) 6.Designer Fashion 7.Film, video and 8.photography 9.Software, computer games and electronic publishing 10.Music and the visual and performing arts Publishing 11.Television and radio The idea is to build a membership which loosely fits that definition and to eventually pass referrals within the group based on sourcing the best solutions for our clients for services or products outside our immediate discipline / expertise. In my experience the best referrals come from those who 1) Know what you do and how you add value 2) Are in related fields and are more likely to have the kinds of converstaions with their clients that may result in generating referrals for others. There are no rules and although its likely as the group grows we may have overlapping disciplines I think it may be counterproductive to make this an closed network. as long as your in the creative industries your welcome to join the emphasis being on collaboration and cooperation to seek more substantial work rather than squabbling over scraps.

The business club is an independent networking group , meeting fortnightly at the fabulous surroundings of Moor Park golf club, Rickmansworth.

I get the sense that its the one thing most of us wish wasn't happening and many refuse to talk about, maybe because we all like a moan now and then and its easy to dwell on the negatives its a discussion easier avoided. I don't approve of most of the media coverage as it has had a effect on confidence but I personally would be grateful of tapping into the experience of business people who've been through a recession and come out of the other side and having a positive discussion on the opportunity's presented and strategy's in dealing with the expected fall out.

This group brings together businesses that invest in the health and well-being of their clients. They might be retailers of appropriate products, ecological educators, training & development businesses, or just plain interested in what makes for a fulfilling lifestyle and environment.
